The Campus do Mar participates for the second consecutive year in the Employment Forum organized by the Faculty of Economics and Business of Uvigo

What is the Employment Forum? It’s a real job opportunity. This is a first contact between students and / or recent graduates who pursue a first contact with the world of work. It is made by and for students where companies and institutions on a large scale can discover the talent of new generations. This contributes to the employment of students, as well as providing companies and institutions committed to the talent of new generations an opportunity to capture highly qualified future professionals, improving self-employment, entrepreneurship and publicizing new career opportunities.

The event is organized by the Faculty of Economics and Business of the University of Vigo in collaboration with the Social Council of the University and the City Council of Vigo.

On this occasion, 39 companies and institutions from very different sectors take part, with special representation from organizations that offer audit services, business consulting, legal, tax and financial advice, pharmaceuticals, fisheries, canneries, distributors and even fashion.

The Campus do Mar participates for the second consecutive year in this forum, publicizing the projects and initiatives it is developing as well as the different opportunities offered by the marine-maritime field in terms of academic and professional training. Also, today, Friday 26 March, Andrea Ogando, manager of the REDE group at Uvigo, gave a talk at this forum: “Sherpa do Mar: boosting technology-based entrepreneurship in the marine-maritime field”. Sherpa do Mar is a project integrated in the Cross-border Cooperation Program INTERREG VA Spain-Portugal (POCTEP) from 2014 to 2020, co-financed by 75% by ERDF Fund and which is being coordinated from Uvigo thanks to the work of the REDE group, the Office of R&D and the Campus do Mar.

In this presentation Andrea introduced, in addition to the main objectives of the project and its scope, the entrepreneurship program “Sherpa Journeys” which started a few months ago and thanks to which is helping entrepreneurs and even companies to improve the its operation through high-level scientific and technical support.
