CALL FOR THE SELECTION PROCEDURE FOR THE TEMPORARY HIRING OF A MANAGER FOR THE PROJECT “SEP-210575807 MarENet – Atlantic Maritime Ecosystem Network” DEPENDING ON THE DIRECTORATE OF THE CAMPUS DO MAR OF UNIVERSIDADE DE VIGO

Call for a selection process for the hiring of a manager, by means of a temporary contract, for the project “SEP-210575807 MarENet – Atlantic Maritime Ecosystem Network”.

 

REGULATORY BASES FOR THE PERSONAL SELECTION PROCESS
FIRST. OBJECT
The purpose of this call is the selection of staff for hiring, on a temporary basis, a manager for the project MarENet.

SECOND. REQUIREMENTS OF THE APPLICANTS
Applicants must fulfil the following requirements in the date of the application submission deadline:
General requirements:
– To have reached eighteen years and have not reached the general established age for retirement
– To have the functional capacity for performing the tasks of the requested profile
– To not have been separated, by a disciplinary file, from the service of any of the Public Administrations, nor be disqualified for the performance of public functions

Essential requirements:
Candidates who wish to participate in the selection process are required to provide:
– Cover letter addressed to the Campus do Mar Director, including name, ID, telephone number and email address
– Curriculum vitae in Europass format specifically stating the suitability and experience of the candidate for the technical profile of the position
– Documents justifying the following requirements:

o Degree in Marine Sciences or marine sciences related first degree
o At least 2 years of experience in project management in the marine
Field (Provable by means of work life document and/or other work contracts)
o Accredited level in English equivalent of B2
o Accredited C2 Level in Spanish equivalent of C2 (or to have Spanish as a mother
tongue)

Once the selection process will be completed, the selected candidate must documentally justify all the alleged merits.

Technical profile:
Depending on Campus do Mar Direction and in coordination with the Transversal Units of the Universidade de Vigo, the candidate will carry out the following activities:
• Organization, management and monitoring of the project in coordination with the involved partners and collaborating entities
• Economic and technical processing of project activities
• Coordination and organization of events, meetings, workshops and dissemination tasks
• Development of the dissemination and communication tasks through the use of web tools and social networks
• Computer skills
• Complementary support in management tasks of projects and activities of Campus do Mar
• Availability to travel

THIRD. DESCRIPTION OF THE WORK POSITION
The hiring will be formalized through a full-time employment contract.
Planned starting date: 01/12/2019. End of the contract: 30/11/2021
Probationary period: Three months minimum
Approximate gross monthly salary: 2000 €
Workplace: Campus do Mar Office, Campus Universitario – Lagoas Marcosende, Universidade de Vigo

FIFTH. PROCEDURE OF THE CALL
Universidade de Vigo will establish a selection Committee to carry out the selection process.
After completing the application submission period, the Committee will assess the applications submitted in two steps according to the following evaluation criteria:

Professional experience (50%)
• Accredited professional experience in technical and economic management of R+D+I projects related with marine environment (additional to the minimum required) 25%
• Accredited professional experience in the design and organization of events and the management of working groups in the marine environment 15%
• Professional experience related with the using of tools employed by EU (i.e. H2020, EMFF etc.) 10%

Training (20%)
• PhD in the marine field 5%
• Master’s Degree in the marine field 2,5%
• Training or specialization courses related to the technical profile 5%
• Level in English language above the required level 5%
• Level in French language equivalent to B1 or higher 2,5%

Interview (30%)
The interview will be conducted in Spanish and English.
